About The Position

If you are seeking a structured practicum placement that provides meaningful, supervised field experience in children’s mental health, we welcome the opportunity to partner with you and your academic institution. Our practicum program is designed to align with your program’s required competencies while providing real-world exposure to clinical practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community-based services. We are looking for practicum students who are professional, growth-oriented, and committed to ethical practice. If you are passionate about supporting children and families and want hands-on experience in a supportive, mission-driven environment, we invite you to apply for a practicum placement with our organization. Alexander Youth Network is passionate about helping children overcome their mental health challenges. Our teams are committed to creating an environment that empowers every individual to thrive and make a difference. As part of our practicum program, you will receive hands-on experience, attend orientation, and have the opportunity to network with our managers and clinical staff. Our practicums offer the potential for academic credit, depending on your institution. Also, High-performing students may be considered for employment post-practicum. Because we receive a high volume of practicum applications, we are unable to contact every applicant individually. Only candidates selected to move forward in the process will be contacted. We appreciate your interest in joining our team. Notification of acceptance will be communicated within 2-4 weeks of the application submission. Practicums are for the Charlotte and Greensboro area only.

Requirements

  • Practicums are open to junior, senior, or graduate-level students.
  • Applicants must pass required background checks, including the Diana screen.
  • Current and valid immunizations and certifications as required.
  • Practicums are available seasonally (Spring, Summer, Fall).
  • Must be able to complete in-person training in Charlotte, NC, or Greensboro, NC from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the length of training will be determined by our L&D team, but could be up to 8 days of in-person training)
  • We must have a practicum agreement with your school
