About The Position

The Graceful Guardians Intern supports program operations to enhance the development, coordination, and implementation of holistic services for older adults (age 60+) participating in the program. This internship provides hands-on experience in case management support, social programming, educational workshops, outreach, and community engagement. Interns gain meaningful exposure to program development and direct service within a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Social Work, Public Health, Gerontology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrates dependability and follows through on assigned tasks
  • Strong interest in working with the older adult (60+) population
  • Able to work in person during weekday hours, including Tuesdays
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 16–24

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Coordinator with the implementation of Graceful Guardians workshops and social activities
  • Maintain accurate and organized member documentation
  • Support creation of a monthly program newsletter highlighting program progress and member engagement
  • Document member participation within the case management system
  • Assist with program development efforts, including grant support, outcome tracking, evaluation activities, and funder reporting
  • Conduct phone outreach to current and prospective members
  • Provide program information and connect members to services
  • Research and gather community resources to support referrals
  • Support collaboration with community partners to strengthen the Graceful Guardians support network
  • Assist in outreach efforts to expand program visibility
