We are seeking a high‑caliber, operationally focused healthcare professional to support the daily and strategic operations of our Virtual Care programs. This role partners closely with the Service Line Administrator, clinical leaders, virtual care teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure smooth practice operations, strong project execution, and consistent support of care delivery across innovative at-home and virtual care models. The Practice Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting IU Health’s Virtual Care Hub, including teams that manage: Hospital‑at‑Home services Virtual nursing and remote patient monitoring Behavioral health virtual care Device distribution and wearable technologies for patients This role provides operational, administrative, and project management support across these teams to advance care delivered outside the hospital setting while reducing cost, strengthening outcomes, and improving patient experience. You will assist with business operations, claims processing, onboarding coordination, policy implementation, and interim managerial support when needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 1–2 years professional office experience (preferably healthcare related), and familiarity with healthcare organizations required
  • Concentration in Accounting, Business, Management, Science, or Health Administration preferred
  • Operationally Strong: You bring a solid understanding of business operations and can support the daily needs of a fast‑paced virtual care environment.
  • Healthcare‑Aware: You have experience in or familiarity with healthcare, with a strong preference for those with clinical or home‑based care exposure.
  • Efficient & Organized: You manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities with clarity and structure.
  • Project‑Capable: You have project management skills and can confidently support workplans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Proactive & Resourceful: You anticipate needs, take initiative, and step in to fill gaps without being asked.
  • Detail‑Oriented: You support claims processing, documentation, and policy work with precision.
  • Flexible: You perform well in an evolving, dynamic environment where priorities shift frequently.
  • Strong Communicator: You work confidently with physicians, leaders, and operational teams across virtual and home‑based care settings.
  • Experience‑Driven: You bring practical experience in business operations and ideally healthcare that supports the team’s effectiveness and growth.

  • Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration may be accepted in lieu of experience

Responsibilities

  • Practice Operations Support: Provide operational support across the virtual care programs, including Hospital‑at‑Home, virtual nursing hubs, behavioral health virtual care, and device/wearables distribution teams.
  • Budget & Target Monitoring: Assist in monitoring budgets and practice performance targets to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Policy & Procedure Implementation: Evaluate, refine, and implement policies and procedures that support clinical and operational workflows.
  • Project Management: Lead and support project planning, execution, and tracking; especially in virtual care optimization, device workflows, onboarding processes, and operational improvements.
  • Revenue Cycle Support: Process and submit claims related to virtual care and device programs to support revenue cycle accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with leadership, physicians, virtual care teams, and business partners to accomplish shared goals and maintain smooth operational performance.
  • Onboarding Coordination: Support onboarding processes for virtual care staff, including workflow setup, equipment coordination, and system access readiness.
  • Interim Management: Provide interim managerial support in the absence of a Practice Administrator or Clinic Manager.
  • Data & Reporting: Assist with operational reporting, tracking practice metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
