About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated full-time Practice Manager to join our wonderful team at Forest Hill Veterinary Hospital. We are a highly regarded, busy, small animal veterinary practice in East Melbourne. Our clinic is well equipped with all the equipment needed to work up cases to high clinical standards, including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, dedicated surgical suite, IM3 dental base, capnography/Bionet monitoring machine, Ultrasound and endoscopy. Our culture is one of personal & professional development, with our cohesive and collaborative team sharing skills across different specialities including surgery – soft tissue & orthopaedic, oncology and reproduction.

Requirements

  • A genuine, warm and supportive style that enjoys caring for people who care for animals.
  • At least 2 years in a practice leadership or head nurse role in a veterinary or animal related field
  • Be committed to high standards of service excellence and clinical care
  • Experience with practice management systems or appointment book management skills and are computer confident
  • Have strong problem solving, decision making and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of people and employment obligations
  • Good knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
  • Experience or interest in change champion and project management

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and coaching the team
  • Ensuring smooth day to day running of the practice
  • Stock management, rostering, and other practice administration tasks
  • Managing business financials with your Regional Manager such as budgeting and P&L reporting
  • Identify staff training needs
  • Providing exceptional customer service and care to all clients and patients
  • Local area marketing activities
  • Growth mindset and the development of new business to business opportunities
