About The Position

The Practice Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of day-to-day clinic operations; monitors the activities of all direct patient care office operations components to ensure clinical objectives are met. The Practice Manager provides expertise and leads by example to ensure all patients receive high quality, safe and efficient care at the clinic by ensuring optimal operational processes and adherence to organization policies and procedures. SCHEDULE: Full-time, Exempt Position, M-F

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare required.
  • Prior leadership and team development experience required.
  • Must possess strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data and systems proficiency skills required with the ability to extrapolate and leverage data for decision making and reporting of KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a consistent, visible, and accessible leadership presence at their site; establish positive working environment.
  • Address issues escalated by providers, staff and patients; seek out appropriate leaders or partners to problem solve and process improve. Function as back up, as needed, for office functions.
  • Develops and implements clinical care related policies and procedures, maintaining survey accreditation requirements, and updating the Rural Health Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Monitor, audit, and evaluate compliance with Federal and State regulations in addition to the quality of clinical services provided at each clinic site to meet ACO requirements. Ensures all clinic locations are in compliance with standards, established hospital policies and procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the liaison for our organization and the ACO, completing all required Quality, Performance Inoperability, and Corporate Compliance reporting for the clinic sites, and collaborate with CNO to obtain quality data for hospital.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates appropriate support plans to meet specific, identified objectives in quality management, empowering the team through data, responding to negative trends in performance metrics and develop action plans to resolve issues. Completes an annual utilization review of programs at all clinic sites, and reports progress Quarterly.
  • Acquire and maintain working knowledge of all EHR platforms used within the clinic and hospital.
  • Demonstrate and further the hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions and inspires others to do the same; champion and assist with implementation of BCH initiatives in their site.
  • Schedule clinic team members in line with staffing models; review volumes and call outs to ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Promote safety and security within the clinic by adhering to OSHA, CLIA, safety and risk management guidelines, personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assure clinic maintenance and appearance.
  • Maintain adequate clinic supplies.
  • In consultation with Medical Staff Services, communicate issues from providers and identify ways to support provider duty execution.
  • Make recommendations for staff training and development; assist in training.
  • Manage initial and ongoing process and policy training for clinic staff, including the coordination of safety meetings.
  • In conjunctions with HR performs staff counseling and disciplinary measures.
  • Conduct job interviews and team member selection in a manner that supports effective staffing. Performs team member onboarding and orientation as well as evaluations to promote team member engagement, development and staff productivity.
  • Initiates activities to promote staff and provider engagement. Uses formal and informal recognition resources to recognize staff and provider accomplishments. Conduct training activities with staff and providers to support operational functions. Participate in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices.
  • Monitor patient interactions to assure high quality and appropriate team member demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity to company policies. Respond to patient concerns and complaints in a timely manner with the goal of improving their patient experience.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with BCH Marketing Dept. to create appropriate marketing opportunities for clinic to enhance public awareness of services.
  • Monitors patient billing with the Patient Financial Service Department and acts as a liaison to address issues.
  • Develops and implements clinical care related policies.
  • Ensures compliance with established hospital policies and procedures.
  • Develops implements and coordinates quality management and utilization review programs.
