As a Practice Group Manager, you’ll partner with practice leaders and firm leadership to shape the direction, performance, and growth of one of our most dynamic practices. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in roles such as practicing lawyer, paralegal, or equivalent business professional positions required
  • Experience analyzing financial/operational data and translating into actionable insights
  • Proven success leading complex projects and initiatives across multiple offices or teams
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution, prioritize effectively, and drive results aligned with firm objectives
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and analytical skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to complex problem-solving
  • Highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, build consensus, and collaborate across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and high emotional intelligence, with the discretion to manage sensitive matters and build trusted relationships
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, take ownership from inception to completion, and deliver accurate, high-quality work with a strong client service mindset

Nice To Haves

  • J.D. or M.B.A. preferred
  • Experience in Complex Litigation practice strongly preferred
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice group and firm leadership to set strategic priorities and drive initiatives that support the growth, performance, and market positioning of the Complex Litigation group
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics—including productivity, revenue, and budget adherence—in collaboration with Finance
  • Plan and facilitate practice group meetings, preparing agendas, materials, and actionable follow-ups to ensure alignment and progress
  • Develop a deep understanding of partner practices to align resources, optimize support, and enhance overall effectiveness
  • Lead and execute practice-specific projects, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver results
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Business Development on pitches and RFP responses to strengthen client development efforts
  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and implement training, onboarding, and mentorship programs that support attorney growth
  • Serve as a central liaison across business functions (e.g., IT, HR, Finance) to ensure seamless operations and responsiveness to practice needs
  • Monitor staffing, workflow, and productivity to proactively address capacity constraints, optimize resource allocation, and reduce operational friction for attorneys
  • Support performance management, evaluations, and succession planning while ensuring compliance with firm policies and maintaining the highest standards of client service and confidentiality
