About The Position

Responsible for day to day leadership and coordination of activities in support of the department and physicians and mid-level providers. Prepares and monitors departmental budget. Interacts with physicians, nursing management and support personnel to implement quality and safety initiatives. Prepares and analyzes departmental data. Assures necessary documentation is maintained to support physician reimbursement and compliance with various regulatory agencies. Monitors physician contracts. <li>Coding and Billing Assures physician billing is coded appropriately and documentation supports such coding. Serves as the primary liaison with the billing department Assures the billing company has all necessary documentation in a timely fashion for appropriate adjudication of claims. Provides regular feedback to the group regarding billing and compliance issues Physician Support Assists the Medical Director in scheduling of Care Group physicians and locums. Assists with recruitment efforts. Assures physicians are informed of hospital policy/guideline changes and general information Works with the Medical Director to assure the group is knowledgeable of and in compliance with HFAP and other regulatory standards as they impact the group. Implements processes to assure department members are in compliance with regulatory and licensure CME requirements Coordinates meetings and events for the group Assures physicians and mid-level providers have the tools, equipment and supplies necessary to perform their jobs Tracks licensure Maintains physician and mid-level provider files Financial Initiatives Prepares annual budget Reconciles budget variances on a monthly basis Maintains records/logs supporting departmental expenditures Identifies and implements cost saving/efficiency initiatives Assures the charge master is up to date and correct Provides regular feedback to physicians regarding individual and group productivity measures Quality/Safety Initiatives Works with the Medical and Administrative Directors of the department to identify and drive quality initiatives Participates in Six Sigma or other quality training and projects Uses statistical data to monitor quality trends Patient Initiatives Assures patient concerns are addressed promptly Plans and implements strategies for improving patient satisfaction Monitors patient satisfaction Administrative Responsibilities Accepts responsibility for overall coordination of departmental activities Assures all necessary and appropriate departmental files and correspondence are maintained Complies statistical data and reports Prepares and maintains department documents such as clinical protocols and/or administrative policies and procedures, scope of care, etc. Works closely with the Physician Recruiter to plan candidate trips Provides general administrative support to the Medical and Administrative Directors Represents the department on various committees Supervisor Responsibilities Supervises Patient Care Facilitators, supplemental support and/or interns (non-provider).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university. Required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Required
  • At least six months prior experience in a patient care, customer service or leadership role Required
