About The Position

The Community Development Specialist II is responsible for scheduling and organizing meetings and small events. Distributing and initiating press releases and keeping all media contact lists up to date and available for immediate use. Co-managing social media channels on a daily basis and assisting the PR team with press-related activity. The candidate should have a passion for social platforms, strong writing and organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlines. Must be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to complete a project accurately and on time. License Level: This is a Gaming position. Nothing in this job description shall be interpreted to allow this position to make discretionary decisions or long-range policy determinations that impact gaming facility operations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor Degree in social sciences, marketing or similar field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience with strong communication and organizational skills work experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, coordinate, and organize meetings and small-scale community and client events
  • Draft, distribute, and initiate press releases, media alerts, pitches, and related communications
  • Maintain and regularly update media contact lists and press databases to ensure immediate availability
  • Co-manage social media channels on a daily basis, including content planning, posting, and engagement
  • Develop and manage social media calendars and original content across platforms
  • Manage and moderate social media communities across Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret social media metrics and analytics to inform strategy and performance
  • Interface daily with clients and internal stakeholders to support communications and campaign needs
  • Secure media placements through proactive phone and email outreach to journalists and media contacts
  • Assist the PR team with press-related activities, campaigns, and client initiatives
  • Provide creative ideas and strategic support for public relations and community engagement campaigns
  • Plan, organize, and manage public relations support for client and community events
  • Conduct research and maintain accurate databases, press lists, and media resources
  • Utilize media and research tools such as Cision, Muck Rack, and similar platforms
  • Identify, pursue, and support new business development opportunities as assigned
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
