Job Summary We are looking for a Powertrain Calibration Intern to join our powertrain calibration and integration team for the fall of 2025. The Intern will work within a small team of engineers and be challenged to calibrate, test, and integrate gasoline, and diesel powertrain packages on dynamometers and in vehicles. The Intern will also support testing and validation of many powertrain components. This position is a paid internship and is located in Allen Park and Livonia, MI. Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering
  • Must be available for the summer of 202 (May through August)
  • Must be able to work a 40+ hour work week M-F
  • Must have specific hands-on internal combustion engine experience
  • Strong Excel and MATLAB / Simulink (or similar) experience
  • Ability to read and interpret various programming languages (Python, C, MATLAB, VBA, etc.)
  • Must have a minimum sophomore standing
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Willingness to travel and/or work overtime upon request

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with engine dynamometer testing
  • Experience with CAN bus (or similar) protocol and communication
  • Formula SAE/Baja or other automotive competition experience

Responsibilities

  • Aiding in dynamometer and vehicle-based calibration and integration for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE)
  • Supporting vehicle testing including drivability, emissions, and durability
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting test data
  • Supporting hot, cold, and high-altitude development testing
  • Assisting in test bench and control system development
  • Supporting prototype wiring harness design and manufacturing
