About The Position

As a vital team member of the production team, the Power Washer Specialist operates a power washer to remove dirt, debris, and staining within animal production facilities and animal transportation vehicles.

Requirements

• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
• Ability to perform light maintenance tasks
• Capable of lifting a maximum of 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

• Operate pressure washer machinery safely and effectively to clean a variety of surfaces
• Use degreasers or removal chemical as label recommends when requested by supervision
• Maintain established schedule as requested and provide feedback to improve schedule efficiency
• Clean up debris and other waste materials from area being washed
• Carry out company biosecurity and safety procedures
• Other manual duties as directed
• Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities
• Keep tools and equipment in good repair
• Wear eye protection, including
• Safety shield over my eyes and face while power washing so as to protect my eyes at all times.
• Safety glasses when I am disinfecting so as to protect my eyes from the disinfectant.
• Shut my power washer off.
• Use only one power washer while washing.
• Provide general maintenance of the power washer, specifically:
• Check the oil on the power washer every day before washing.
• Check the water filter once a week.
• Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse.
• Ensure the highest level of a safe work environment and safe work practices
• Demonstrate Schwartz Farms' values of humility, care, integrity, discipline and excellence.
• Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse
• Maintain PQA certification status
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment
• Additional duties may be assigned as they arise.
