Power Supply Intern

Antora EnergySan Jose, CA

About The Position

Antora builds and deploys thermal batteries to power always-on industrial operations with low-cost energy. Factory-built in the United States, Antora’s modular thermal batteries deliver reliable heat and power, enabling industrial facilities of any size to decarbonize predictably and profitably. Antora is electrifying global industry while supporting U.S. manufacturing jobs, lowering costs for energy consumers, and enhancing the competitiveness of American industry. We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and build with humility and openness. We are committed to continue building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future where every industrial facility, everywhere on earth, is powered by abundant, clean, low-cost energy. Position Summary Antora’s Power Supply team is seeking a Summer Associate (Intern) for Summer 2026 to build AI-powered tools and automated workflows that streamline complex power supply analysis. Over ~10 weeks, you’ll deliver a mission-critical project (e.g., a Power Supply desktop study automation pipeline and/or an interconnection opportunity mapping workflow) that accelerates how Antora identifies, evaluates, and de-risks high-priority projects supporting faster deployment of Antora batteries.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of energy markets and the role of power supply in energy storage project development.
  • Strong analytical ability: comfortable synthesizing multiple data sources into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools (LLMs, RAG, agents, automation) to real-world problems—especially extracting insights from unstructured data and building repeatable workflows.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and document processes so others can use and maintain them.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with utility tariffs, interconnection processes, and common terminology in grid development.
  • Experience with power/market modeling and data analysis or energy analytics tools (e.g., PROMOD, Orennia, PLEXOS or similar).
  • Experience building lightweight data products (dashboards/maps), pipelines, or APIs—especially for geo-tagged or utility-territory-based datasets.
  • Interest in experimenting with “agentic” workflows (interactive analyst assistants) and iterating quickly from prototype to usable internal tool.

Responsibilities

  • Build an AI-assisted desktop study pipeline that ingests new project inputs (e.g., intake + minimal data) and produces a standardized desktop study output (e.g., into Notion), targeting ~90% completeness with <30 minutes of human QA.
  • Automate and standardize key power supply research components, such as:
  • Develop a filterable “Interconnection Intelligence Map,” leveraging interconnection tools like Piq that catalogs substation specs, MW withdrawal capacity, and estimated interconnection costs; overlay insights with Antora’s customer/project pipeline to identify geographic “sweet spots.”
  • Prototype and deploy AI-enabled analyst workflows (e.g., an interactive “Power Supply Analyst” agent) that help the team answer complex utility/interconnection questions faster and more consistently.
  • Package your work so it persists after the internship: documentation, handoff materials, and a usable tool/workflow that the team continues using.
