About The Position

Smart Data Solutions, a leading provider of data management, claim routing and workflow solutions to health plans and TPAs, is looking for Power Platform Interns to join our team!

As a Power Platform Intern on the Business Automation team, you will help design, build, and support low-code/no-code solutions that streamline operational workflows and improve efficiency across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and AI-driven automation.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
• Basic understanding of relational data concepts and Excel data manipulation.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Power BI DAX or M Query.
• Power Apps formulas experience.
• Python or SQL basics.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, Dataverse, or Dynamics.
• Interest in AI, automation, or digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) for operational processes.
• Develop and test Power Automate flows for workflow automation and integrations.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Help with data cleanup, transformation, and validation.
• Support development of AI Builder models (form processing, prediction, classification).
• Assist with prototyping AI/agentic workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
• Participate in testing and evaluating automation opportunities.
• Create and maintain process documentation (flows, SOPs, BRDs/PDDs).
• Develop test cases and support UAT activities.
• Support system and functional testing for new enhancements.
• Work with business users to gather requirements and understand process pain points.
• Participate in team stand-ups, sessions, and reviews.
• Share findings and propose process improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
