About The Position

As our Power Plant Mechanic, at ENGIE's Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), you will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance repairs, overhauls, and testing of various plant equipment. This role will also provide supervisors with all pertinent information concerning this equipment and submit written reports as requested. You will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. You will: Perform, install, inspect, overhaul, and maintain various plant equipment including engine generators, pumps, valves, piping, traps, boilers, and chillers as necessary to meet plant operational needs Perform maintenance and repairs to auxiliary systems which directly support the operation of the facility and within the distribution network Prepare technical data and equipment observation reports necessary for proper diagnostic work and machinery history records Determine and obtain the parts and supplies from stock as required in order to perform repairs, maintenance, and overhaul work; prepare stockroom requisitions as required Organize and submit information to supervisors as needed to order parts and materials required in the general performance of job assignments Maintain work areas and shop facilities in a clean, orderly, and safe conditions Observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws Participate in mandatory training and other programs

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience as a mechanic or similar role in a Central Heating Plant (CHP) or similar environment
  • Proficient with precision measuring devices like dial calipers, micrometers, gauges and other instruments)
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license; you will drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or has the desire to achieve Massachusetts Forklift (1C), Hoisting (3A) licenses or Welding Certification
