About The Position

As our Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic, at Georgetown University you will be responsible for executing inspections, preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on our combined Heating and Power plant's (CHP) mechanical equipment. ENGIE is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the universities utility systems, maintaining campus utility production and distribution systems of steam, chilled water, condensate, and domestic water while optimizing operating costs. In this role no two days are the same. Each day will bring new challenges and new opportunities to learn. You will be using your mechanical troubleshooting skills, on boilers, and auxiliary plant equipment performing pump alignments and other precision work. You will: Assist others as necessary to maintain reliable and safe plant operationRead and understand mechanical and electrical printsRead process and identify drawings of plant equipment and distribution systemsComplete tasks that may include but are not limited to mechanical alignment, lubrication, inspection and vibration monitoring Coordinate with the activities of other operations or trade personnel in relations to safe plant operations, maintenance, and reliability

Requirements

  • You will have a minimum education of a High School Diploma /GED or equivalent
  • You will have a minimum of four (4) years of related experience in the maintenance, rebuilding, and repairing of mechanical equipment, or the equivalent combination of training and experience is required due to the complexity of the plant systems
  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10%
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/ will drive company vehicle on site
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 50% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions

Responsibilities
