For the Service Writer, this means serving as a primary point of contact for customers in the Power Equipment Service Department. You will consult with customers regarding their equipment needs, create and manage work orders, communicate repair estimates and timelines, and provide timely updates to both customers and technicians. You play a key role in ensuring clear communication, accurate documentation, and a smooth service experience from drop-off to pick-up.

Requirements

  • Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 80 pounds (with assistance).
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, combined with frequent movement throughout the service department and retail floor.
  • Ability to work at a computer to complete administrative and reporting tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of the shift.
  • Moving self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various work environments.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when handling equipment or assisting customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, polite, and knowledgeable customer service in person and over the phone
  • Serve as a direct point of contact for customers regarding service inquiries and repairs
  • Create, review, bill, and finalize work orders accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate repair estimates clearly and professionally
  • Contact customers when equipment is complete and ready for pick-up
  • Schedule and coordinate pick-ups, deliveries, and on-road repairs
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records and filing systems
  • Create invoices and process billing documentation
  • Make collection calls and organize monthly customer statements
  • Track, order, and organize office supplies
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace
  • Support other departments as needed
