About The Position

Lead new technology development projects working with a core team to develop proof of concept demonstrator power conversion systems for data centers and AI deployments. Develop system architecture, select product topology and develop overall design for new products. Create product specifications from VOC and break them down into functional specifications for sub-systems. Evaluate alternative design solutions to meet customer and product development requirements factoring in cost, performance, and schedule. Simulate power electronics, analog, logical, and digital circuits, including transient and state machine change analyses. Lead product development projects and be accountable for meeting cost, product performance, and schedule goals. Interface with vendors on component technical issues, including data sheet clarification, component performance, and design solutions. Assist product, program, and engineering managers in developing cost targets, product roadmaps, and program schedules to align with business goals. Lead product DVT and validation testing in the lab with a team of engineers and technicians. Drive technical excellence and rigor through simulations and Design for Six Sigma concepts. Leverage your skill and experience by giving guidance and leadership to other technical project team members. Work with global product development teams to solve problems related to performance, functionality, safety, reliability, quality and component availability. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years work experience in power electronic circuit design OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years work experience in power electronic circuit design. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Experience with Inverter theory/knowledge, knowledge battery systems and protective devices including power distribution. Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics utility interface, and power conversion topologies. Experience with DC distribution systems. Experience with Design for Six Sigma tools Experience interacting with Global teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years work experience in power electronic circuit design OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years work experience in power electronic circuit design
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Experience with Inverter theory/knowledge
  • Knowledge battery systems and protective devices including power distribution
  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics utility interface, and power conversion topologies
  • Experience with DC distribution systems
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma tools
  • Experience interacting with Global teams
  • Experience with digital control and algorithms to power electronics systems
  • Understanding of Magnetics Design for high frequency Power Electronics
  • Ability to simulate, analyze, troubleshoot using HIL systems
  • Competent with Matlab/Simulink/PLECS and PSPICE
  • Analyze and simulate power electronics systems from board level to complex products
  • Familiarity with schematic entry and PCB design tools like Altium, Cadence, etc
  • Understanding of layout design principles
  • Excellent verbal/ written communications
  • Self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements
  • Familiarity with common tools and methods to work in high power lab (480V AC, 800V DC) environment, oscilloscope, power analyzers and meters
  • Work in lab environment around high voltage where safety awareness is critical
