Overview: The Power Distribution Intern will support the internal and external sales teams with product research, customer quotes, project bids, and interaction with manufacturers to provide Power solutions to McNaughton-McKay customers. The Power Group acts as the primary contact for industrial and commercial power systems, design specifications, installation practices, and project management for manufacturer and contractor customers.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similarly related technical field of study (open to Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior).
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required.
  • Project management experience via school or internship preferred, but not required.
  • Sales interest preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience and understanding of the power distribution industry, including products, processes, customers, specifications, and overall project management.
  • Have opportunities to meet with customers and visit various job sites.
  • Engage daily with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, operations, and other departments and leadership.
  • Support current and future projects at various phases of the project management lifecycle that may include:
  • Customer-focused design build projects (AutoCAD, quoting, specifications, product recommendations, etc.).
  • Customer bid placement and tracking.
  • Coordination and delivery of project materials.
