About The Position

BRT is a growing aluminum extrusions company where our products are used in countless applications. As the company expands, so do the opportunities for our employees. This position is for a Powder Coat Utility Worker, responsible for various tasks related to the powder coating process. Key duties include loading, racking, hanging, and unloading aluminum extrusions, assisting with surface preparation, inspecting parts, and preparing finished products for packaging. The role also involves supporting powder coat operators during production, performing basic rework, moving materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Must comply with company policies including but not limited to all safety policies
  • Must know how to read a tape measure or be willing to learn for quality checks
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have ability to read and understand basic instructions (Spanish instructions are provided as needed)
  • Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must be willing to participate in all required job and/or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours and weekend shifts

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Load, rack, hang, and unload aluminum extrusions onto racks, conveyors, or carts
  • Assist with surface preparation including cleaning, masking, and visual inspections of parts
  • Unrack coated parts and prepare finished product for packaging or staging
  • Assist powder coat operators during production, color changes, and line startups
  • Perform basic inspection of coated parts for defects and report issues to supervisors
  • Perform basic rework tasks as directed (touch-ups, sanding, re-racking)
  • Move materials using carts or dollies (forklift use only if trained and certified)
  • Maintain cleanliness of powder booths, racks, floors, over, and work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Follow work instructions and quality standards
