Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Architect to lead efforts in optimizing and enhancing the performance of our existing database architecture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements for PostgreSQL environments. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can design and implement scalable database solutions while ensuring security, reliability, and efficiency. The Work:

Requirements

• 4-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in database design principles, including normalization, denormalization, and partitioning strategies.
• Proven expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements.
• Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring tools and implementing proactive performance optimizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex database systems.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity. This role will be on-site, as needed, in Falls Church (likely a few times a month).
• US Citizenship with Active Secret

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in creating and managing backup and recovery procedures for PostgreSQL environments.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL security best practices and implementation of robust security protocols.
• Experience implementing TimescaleDB for time-series data.
