About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Staffing and Recruiting is working with a Technology company in Northern Virginia that is searching for a strong Postgres SQL to support database management, data transformation processes, reporting infrastructure, test data management, data modeling, and more. This is a permanent role and requires in-office capabilities. Candidate will be responsible for the following: Technology delivery and database administration experience Continuously improving data architecture Providing Data support to teams across the organization Providing operational database support and modernize data warehouse/reporting solution Responsibility for Data Warehousing, Data Services, Big Data and Data Science. The selected candidate will be able to understand all components of data architecture (physical/logical replication, monitoring, provisioning, performance tuning at both SQL/system levels, etc.). Support for production database management, data transformation processes, reporting infrastructure, test data management, and data modeling Technology delivery and database administration Responsibility for Data support to teams across the company. Responsive database operational support and modernize data warehouse and reporting solutions. You will be part of a team with cross-divisional responsibility for Data Warehousing, Data Self Services, Big Data and Data Science Candidate is expected to be able to fully understand all components of data architecture (physical/logical replication, monitoring, provisioning, performance tuning at both SQL/system levels, etc.).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar discipline
• 4+ years’ experience with database administration ( operation, administration (patching, backup/restore, replication), and SQL performance tuning )
• Strong understanding of how database internals function (Write-Ahead Logging, Point-in-time recovery, database optimizers, query planning and optimization, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using JIRA and/or Confluence
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Up to date with latest developments in database technology (PostgreSQL ideally)
• Experience building ETL Pipelines
• Experience with data obfuscation (masking)
• Experience migrating data solutions from on-premises servers to Cloud
• Experience using Python and/or R
• Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform
