We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in theoretical condensed matter physics, with interests including but not limited to: exotic phases of matter in bosonic, fermionic and spin systems; aspects of generalized, including non-invertible, symmetries; field-theoretic techniques in topological phases of matter; and quantum information theory as it relates to condensed matter problems. Candidates with either (or both) analytical and numerical expertise are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will operate in the research group of Dr. Andriy Nevidomskyy, with opportunities to collaborate with other faculty members in the Condensed Matter Theory group, as well as interact with BNL scientists across disciplinary boundaries. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to conduct original research, disseminate results by writing manuscripts and giving academic presentations, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The appointment is for two years, with a possibility of extension subject to the availability of funding.
