The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a postdoc position in the areas of superconducting hybrid devices involving superconductors with graphene and topological thin film materials. The successful candidate will lead in thin film synthesis, device fabrication, and transport measurement of devices involving superconductors interfaced with graphene, topological materials and other 2D systems. The project requires fabrication of superconducting thin films using a HPCVD process, nanofabrication, and low temperature and high magnetic field measurements. The ideal candidate should have very good knowledge and experience in the areas of topological superconductivity, quantum materials, and superconducting devices. Technical experience in the areas of epitaxial growth of thin films using CVD and related technique is preferred. Other knowledge of pulsed-laser deposition, sputtering deposition, photo- and electron beam lithography, and transport and superconductivity measurements at low temperatures are also appreciated.
