About The Position
The Department of Physics has an experimental Postdoctoral Research Associate job opening to work on the growth of wide bandgap semiconductors including cubic boron nitrite. This will be joint appointment between the Departments of Physics and Electrical/Computer Engineering. The candidate will be expected to periodically travel to a growth site in New Jersey.
Requirements
- The successful candidate must have a PhD in Physics or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 3 years of experimental research experience is required.
- Candidates must be experienced in academic writing with a publication record.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills are required.
- Hands on experience and background in crystal growth, characterization tools, maintenance of laboratory equipment, data collection and analysis
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of crystal growth and characterization tools
- Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and perform data collection and analysis
Responsibilities
- Sample preparation, data collection and analysis
- Manuscript preparation and presenting results at meetings
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Recording experimental data
