About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate, under general supervision, conducts clinical research focused on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use disorders (SUD), including participation in clinical trials. This role offers opportunities to lead grant proposals, author peer-reviewed publications, and mentor doctoral students and research staff. The associate will contribute to data analysis, conference presentations, and ongoing seminars and workshops, while working closely with Dr. Vujanovic and a multidisciplinary team to explore innovative research questions related to co-occurring PTSD and SUD.

Requirements

  • Ph.D in a clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Prior research training in clinical psychology, behavioral health, or a related field.
  • Experience in data collection, management, and analysis, including using standardized assessments and contributing to grant writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations in traumatic stress.
  • Advanced data anaylsis skills, including use of statistical software (e.g. SPSS, R, SAS).
  • Prior involvement in successful grant applications or funded research projects.
  • Experience mentoring and supervising students or research assistants in a clinical or research setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with data management and reporting platforms such as redcap.
  • Experience conducting statistical anaylysis using software such as SPSS, R, or SAS.
  • Familiarity with ecological momentary assessment (EMA) tools.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large, complex datasets with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary work team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with grant submissions and peer-reviewed publications, contributing to the development of competitive research proposals.
  • Support research projects by conducting data management and statistical analyses, and assisting with study development, assessments, and data collection.
  • Develop conference presentations, posters, and other scholarly products.
  • Research mentorship and supervision of doctoral students in clinical psychology.
  • Collaborate with research staff, graduate students, and investigators on study tasks, and actively contribute to lab meetings and team initiatives.
