About The Position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will utilize the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty. Salary : Starting salary is $50,570 annually. Please note this is a part-time position being hired at 75% FTE. Position Details: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future. Candidates will need to have completed their PhD by the start of employment. This Postdoctoral Research Associate position will require approximately 100% effort dedicated to research activities, with an anticipated duration of one year, contingent upon project funding and performance. Requirements

  • PhD in urban planning Geography, Public Health, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated research experience in housing, hazards, environmental justice, community development, or related topics.
  • Strong record (or emerging record) of scholarly publications and research productivity.
  • Experience with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research design.
  • Ability to work effectively with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and supervise graduate students.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups
  • Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors
  • Present research at academic conferences, community meetings, and partner-agency briefings
