About The Position

The Electrical Department in the College of Engineering, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Please note that UTA is not able to sponsor new H-1B visas for persons outside the US, for this position at this time. The candidate should be able to work independently under the supervision of Professor Magnusson. Major duties are: (1) To lead and carry out sponsored research projects related to design, fabrication, processing and testing of nanophotonic device chips.; (2) To assist in project management including scheduling, team management, and reporting; (3) To present and publish research results.

Requirements

  • Postdoctoral candidates are required to hold a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields, with a strong theoretical and experimental background in nanophotonics and optoelectronics.
  • Experience in micro- and nano-fabrication is required.
  • Strong technical background in modeling, design, and experimental realization of nanophotonic devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with laser interference lithography and/or electron-beam lithography desired.
