The Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join a team analyzing data from the Parents, Adolescents, and Siblings Study (PASS), an NIH funded study with 4 waves of data on 682 families examining the impact of family and friends on the emergence of alcohol, substance use, and mental health problems during adolescence and the transition to adulthood. The postdoctoral researcher will play a central role in advancing this work through quantitative analysis, manuscript preparation, and next-phase study development. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Sarah Mustillo and collaborate with external investigators from other universities. Further, there will be opportunities to collaborate with faculty from the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society and the ND Population Analytics Program on other research projects and to advance the candidate's own scholarly agenda as well. This is a full-time, in-person position based in South Bend, Indiana. The twelve-month annual salary is commensurate with NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines ( https://www.niaid.nih.gov/grants-contracts/salary-cap-stipends ). The position includes health insurance and university benefits as well as funds for conference travel and professional development. The initial appointment is for one year beginning August 2026, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding availability.
