The Global Ecology group at the Earth Systems Research Center, University of New Hampshire (UNH), has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate. The goal of this project is to advance understanding of how ecosystem functioning, productivity, carbon uptake/stock, and resilience respond to climate change, and how these responses are mediated by biodiversity and management across regional to global scales. The successful applicant will integrate ground-based observations (e.g., eddy covariance measurements, forest inventories) with satellite remote sensing data (e.g., spaceborne lidar and/or hyperspectral observations) and apply machine learning and deep learning approaches to address these questions. This position is funded by NASA. The appointment is for one year initially and may be renewed depending on funding availability and satisfactory performance.
