The Brookhaven Physics Department focuses on exploring hot and cold QCD using the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). The sPHENIX Group within the department is crucial to the sPHENIX experiment at RHIC, which began collecting physics data in 2023. The group is also actively involved in developing the sPHENIX physics program, with a focus on jets, photons, heavy flavor, and quarkonium, as well as in the development of the future ePIC detector for the EIC. The Physics Department is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary team. This role involves collaborating with scientists from the Physics Department and BNL Computing and Data Science (CDS) to apply advanced generative AI, such as Foundation Models, to the sPHENIX experiment, with plans for future use at the EIC. The successful candidate may also contribute significantly to existing research activities, including the sPHENIX physics program and EIC detector R&D.
