The Ferraride de Andrade Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead the CD16a project Natural killer (NK) cells perform antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) following CD16a engagement. However, CD16a can be shed from the cell surface prior engagement. We, therefore, generated a novel antibody that inhibits CD16a shedding, to test the hypothesis that CD16a shedding is a homeostatic mechanism of immune regulation. Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: The research project will generate new mechanistic insights into leukocyte biology and cancer immunology, and it will help develop novel immunotherapies for solid and hematological cancers.
