A postdoctoral fellow position (experimentalist) is now available at the Department of Physics, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, U.S.A. The project aims to experimentally design and optimize macroscopic entangled states of light based on femtosecond laser-driven bright squeezed vacuum states, multimode pulsed squeezed coherent states, and other nonclassical states of light. Bright squeezed vacuum can be experimentally generated through high-gain parametric down-conversion or four-wave mixing, which is a promising tool for applications in quantum sensing and quantum imaging. On the other hand, multimode pulsed squeezed coherent states can be realized through optical parametric amplification and other nonlinear processes. As theoretical understanding of such nonclassical states has advanced over the past few years, numerous experiments will be required to verify and further optimize them for potential applications. In this exciting role and project, you will work under the direction of Prof. Chen-Ting Liao and in collaboration with other researchers for future applications.
