About The Position

The Obado Lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate RNA processing and export, as well as ribosome biogenesis, in trypanosomes. This position is ideal for a recent PhD graduate with strong training in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology. Experience in cryo–electron microscopy is not required but would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will engage in independent and collaborative research, develop scientific skills as appropriate for this level of training position and carry out research/development activities in support of assigned research projects. Responsibilities include protocol development and review, data collection and analysis, manuscript and fellowship application preparation, and training in the conduct of clinical trials and research.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in specialty area from an accredited university training program
  • Experience using basic research techniques of specialty area

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience conducting research in the pediatric arena
  • Experience in protocol and manuscript development and in grant writing
  • Experience in cryo–electron microscopy
