About The Position

The Seaver Autism Center, Department of Psychiatry offers comprehensive assessment and care for people with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of experts uses genetics, molecular biology, model systems, neuroimaging, and experimental therapeutics to treat each patient. We also provide opportunities to participate in an integrated series of research studies aimed at understanding the causes of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders, and developing treatments. We actively collaborate with members of the research community at Mount Sinai, as well as with various institutions and consortia throughout the U.S. and the world. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a postdoctoral fellow and contribute to the novel research being done in the Seaver Center and at Mount Sinai. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Buxbaum and will be responsible for using developmental and molecular neuroscience methods applied to genetically engineered mouse models to understand the mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for experimental design, data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation. Research duties include data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation, publication in peer-reviewed journals, and presentation at national and international conferences.
