Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: The goal is to apply multidisciplinary approaches, including electrophysiology, biochemical and biophysical assays, and structural biology, to advance understanding of structure and function of these essential membrane proteins at the atomic level and establish new foundations for rational therapies.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field.
  • Membrane protein biochemistry and cryo-EM structure determination and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include molecular biology experiments
  • Purification of membrane transport proteins for structural and functional studies
  • Structure determination of membrane transport proteins using single-particle cryo-electron microscopy
  • Biochemical and biophysical assays to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms
  • Analysis of these experimental results
  • Participation in manuscript preparation and grant writing.
