The Montague & LaMantia laboratories at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute are seeking a postdoctoral associate who is a physiologist or cellular neuroscientist with excellent quantitative skills and some experience in molecular and genetic approaches in animal models. The Montague & LaMantia labs are currently developing new hypotheses and approaches to understand consequence of impaired dopamine signaling in Parkinson’s disease for distinct forebrain circuits: particularly cortical versus striatal targets. This position is an excellent opportunity for a biologically trained investigator to expand their analytical skills, learn new methods in machine learning, human physiology and cellular/molecular approaches in relevant animal models, and to understand the roles of the neuromodulator dopamine in distinct circuits that are targets of pathology in human neurodegenerative diseases.
