The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on cognitive aging and Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias ( ADRD ). This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cognition, and novel biomarkers for early detection of disease. The successful candidate will play a key role in ongoing and developing ADRD studies of deeply phenotyped participants at high ADRD . Bloods are collected longitudinally and assessed for different types of omics. The postdoc will work closely with the PI and a team of neuropsychologists, neurologists and cognitive neuroscientists from the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Alzheimer’s Research Center. This postdoctoral fellowship will be in close collaboration with Dr. Yasser Iturria-Medina’s Neuroinformatics for Personalized Medicine lab in McGill University, Canada. Applicants must have experience working with computational modeling and multi-omics analysis in neurodegeneration. Ideal candidates will have a background in the biomedical neurosciences such as biomedical engineering, data science, computational sciences, neurobiology, psychology, epidemiology, cognitive neuroscience, and an interest in studying the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease. The Postdoc will participate in lab meetings, research-in-progress seminars, and presentations at conferences. Overview About the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Center: Founded in 2023, the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Center: is fully dedicated to accelerating the discovery of new treatments for Alzheimer’s and related dementias. This center marks a significant milestone—it is the very first of its kind in our state’s history. In New Jersey, around 200,000 individuals suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, and a larger number of older adults are at high risk for developing the disease. Our mission is clear: to lead the way in finding solutions to prevent and treat this devastating disease. With a focus on translating groundbreaking research into real-world impact, our team is committed to improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities affected by Alzheimer’s. Through collaboration and innovation, we aim to deliver meaningful outcomes for those at risk and currently battling the disease. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a leading national research university. Its partners form one of the nation’s largest academic health care systems, and the largest in New Jersey. The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Center is a Brain Health Institute ( BHI ) center. By reporting to Rutgers New Brunswick and Rutgers Health, and being administered by Rutgers Health, BHI serves as a unifying entity that fosters collaboration and integration, driving forward advancements in neuroscience research and education.
