The Postdoctoral Associate position is a mentored training role under the supervision of a Principal Investigator, where the individual will conduct independent and collaborative research. Key aspects of the role include designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and contributing to publications and grant applications, all while developing advanced scientific and professional skills.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biomedical Sciences or Biology
  • Recent PhD graduate with demonstrated experience in cardiovascular biology, molecular biology, or a related biomedical field
  • Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and standard laboratory techniques (e.g., cell culture, molecular assays, animal models) is required
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent data presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Possess strong attention to detail, analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in cardiac biology, metabolism, or regenerative biology is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to learn to advance projects
  • Generate hypotheses, design experiments, interpret data, trouble shoot and optimize experiments
  • Be able to analyze and interpret data from different sources and draw relevant conclusions
  • Be able to present results at internal and external meetings
  • Accurately document experiments
  • Contribute to the writing of reports and manuscripts with increasing responsibility over time
  • Work collaboratively across lab functions and train other junior lab staff as needed
  • Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed.
