About The Position

Duke University School of Nursing is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join our T32 Nurse LEADS Program—a prestigious training grant funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research. This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your research career in nurse-led models of care addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) using advanced analytics. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced faculty mentors, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and prepare for a full-time academic or research career.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Nurse.
PhD or equivalent doctorate (e.g., DNS) earned within the past 5 years.
Candidates with non-U.S. degrees must provide proof of degree equivalency.

Nice To Haves

Strong interest in nurse-led care models and health systems research.
Experience with advanced analytics and addressing SDOH.
Demonstrated ability to publish and present research at national conferences.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent research under faculty mentorship.
Devote 25% effort to mentor-led projects and 75% to coursework and training.
Publish at least 4 manuscripts (2 as lead author, 2 as co-author).
Carry out a pilot research study and mentor pre-doctoral trainees.
Submit a grant application to NIH or equivalent.
Attend monthly seminars, research events, and present at four national conferences annually.
Complete three T32 Nurse LEADS courses and audit up to two additional courses per year.
Develop and implement an Individual Development Plan (IDP) with mentors.
Comply with Duke’s standards for responsible conduct in research and collegial behavior.
