About The Position

The Department of Medicine Division of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Institute are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work under the direction of Dr. Stephen Chan and Dr. Neil Kelly. The lab is focused on the study of health exposures in cardiometabolic disease. The lab has a particular interest in translating findings from population genetics to cellular and preclinical disease models in order to understand the mechanistic links between health exposures and cardiovascular disease pathogenesis.

Requirements

PhD in Biology or related field
Experience in cell culture
Experience in rodent models
Experience in genome editing
Experience in lentivirus and plasmid synthesis
Experience in western blotting
Experience in PCR
Experience in scientific writing
Experience in data analysis
Experience in statistics

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of scientific strategy
Perform cellular and animal experiments
Perform statistical analysis and prepare data for presentation
Present findings at local and national meetings
Meet weekly with PIs to review data and discuss progress
Assist with lab training and supervision of students and trainees research tasks
