About The Position

The Postdoctoral Associate within the Balic lab of the Hillman Cancer Center will conduct independent scientific research projects and clinical studies form inception to presentation. They will prepare and craft various documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations, train undergraduates, and coordinate project development in collaboration with other specialists. Additionally, their responsibilities will include participating in non-interventional biomarker research protocols, supporting and coordinating tissue procurement and blood collection, processing, and data interpretation and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge in medical oncology
  • Understanding of clinical trial methodology, including basic trial designs (phase I–III), eligibility criteria, endpoints, and regulatory considerations.
  • Familiarity with translational research concepts, including biospecimen collection, biobanking, molecular profiling, and integration of laboratory findings with clinical data.
  • Basic proficiency in research databases and data management systems, including electronic data capture platforms and clinical registries.
  • Introductory knowledge of data analysis principles, including interpretation of clinical and molecular datasets, and familiarity with basic statistical concepts.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary activities, including collaboration with clinicians, research coordinators, statisticians, and laboratory scientists.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to support protocol implementation, regulatory documentation, and research reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • A PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Cancer Biology is preferred.
