Kim Lyerly The Department of Surgery, Center for Applied Therapeutics is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our team. The Center for Applied Therapeutics encompasses a broad array of research activities involved in the development, preclinical testing, and clinical testing of novel therapies targeting cancer or precancerous conditions. Collectively, the Center for Applied Therapeutics consists of over 30 individuals ranging from senior scientists to post-doctoral fellows, which serves as a robust environment for research activity in a broad array of applied therapeutics. The Center for Applied Therapeutics develops dendritic cell and T-cell-based therapies for various cancers. We collaborate across the university and with industry to translate discoveries into clinical proof of concept studies. Working with a team led by Drs. H. Kim Lyerly, Zachary Hartman and Josh Snyder, this program spans basic discovery through preclinical models to clinical trials within Duke and collaborating institutions We seek postdoctoral fellows with experience or knowledge in cellular immunotherapy, in vitro/in vivo imaging, and cancer therapeutics. Experience in cell-based therapeutics is preferred. The Postdoc will develop and optimize novel dendritic cell and T cell therapies against cancers using sophisticated immunogenomic approaches.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. M.B.B.S., Sc.D., D.V.M.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cell-based therapeutics is preferred.
  • postdoctoral fellows with experience or knowledge in cellular immunotherapy, in vitro/in vivo imaging, and cancer therapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation of experiments, including raw experimental data and laboratory notebooks.
  • Monitor progress of research projects and coordinate with Principal Investigator and Program team to stay on budget and schedule to meet the milestones and deliverables
  • Adhere to University standards regarding use of isotopes, chemicals, infectious agents, animals, human subjects, and the like.
