About The Position
Stony Brook University has a Postdoctoral Associate position available to conduct research in the Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Science and the Nuclear Theory Group at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The incumbent will perform research in theoretical nuclear and high energy physics and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Theoretical Physics or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment.
Nice To Haves
- PhD degree in theoretical high energy nuclear and particle physics.
- A strong background in quantum field theory and experience in effective field theory/lattice gauge theory/scattering amplitude computations is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform cutting edge research to achieve research objectives of the Simons Collaboration on Confinement and QCD Strings.
- Preparation of papers for publications, presentation of results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.
- Collaborate with members of scientific communities, both nationally and internationally.
- Other duties as assigned.
