POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE , Chemistry , to join the laboratory of Prof. Robert J. Gilliard, Jr. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); work on projects related to the design, synthesis, and photophysical properties of near-infrared absorbing and emitting dyes for bioimaging and optoelectronic materials; conduct advanced synthetic techniques, including small-scale work, inert-atmosphere synthesis, multi-step reaction sequences, and chromatography and various characterization methods including but not limited to, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, time correlated single photon counting, quantum yield measurements, cyclic voltammetry, and X-ray crystallography; ensure appropriate research record-keeping and data management; maintain laboratory instrumentation; and serve as a mentor and resource for junior lab members.
