About The Position

The Post-Harvest Manager is responsible for overseeing all post-harvest activities, including drying, curing, trimming, packaging preparation, and inventory movement from cultivation into finished goods. This role ensures product quality, workflow efficiency, and team productivity while building standardized processes that support long-term scalability. The Post-Harvest Manager works cross-functionally with cultivation, inventory, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transitions and accurate product handling.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cannabis cultivation or post-harvest operations
  • 1+ year of leadership or team management experience
  • Strong understanding of drying, curing, and trimming processes
  • Experience managing workflows in a production-based environment
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple batches and timelines simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in large-scale or multi-state cannabis operations
  • Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack)
  • Experience building SOPs and operational systems
  • Background in manufacturing, agriculture, or high-volume production environments

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all post-harvest processes including drying, curing, bucking, trimming, and product preparation
  • Develop and maintain standardized workflows for each stage of post-harvest
  • Ensure proper environmental conditions are maintained for drying and curing rooms
  • Monitor product quality throughout each stage to ensure consistency and prevent loss
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production targets and ensure they are met
  • Lead, train, and manage post-harvest team members including trimmers and support staff
  • Create staffing plans aligned with harvest schedules and production needs
  • Set clear expectations for productivity, quality, and accountability
  • Provide ongoing coaching and hands-on training to improve efficiency and technique
  • Monitor team performance and address gaps in execution or consistency
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards for all post-harvest product
  • Identify and address issues related to mold, moisture levels, or product degradation
  • Ensure all finished product meets internal brand standards prior to packaging
  • Collaborate with leadership on continuous improvement of product quality
  • Coordinate the movement of product from cultivation into post-harvest and into finished goods
  • Work closely with inventory teams to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation
  • Maintain organization and traceability of all batches throughout post-harvest stages
  • Assist in audits, counts, and discrepancy resolution as needed
  • Identify bottlenecks in post-harvest workflows and implement process improvements
  • Build scalable systems that support increased production volume
  • Track key metrics such as yield retention, processing time, and labor efficiency
  • Continuously improve workflows to reduce waste and increase output
  • Partner with cultivation teams to align on harvest schedules and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and packaging teams to ensure smooth product transitions
  • Communicate production timelines, delays, and capacity constraints to leadership
  • Support new product launches and ensure readiness from a post-harvest standpoint
  • Ensure all post-harvest areas are clean, organized, and operating efficiently
  • Oversee maintenance and proper use of trimming and processing equipment
  • Maintain sanitation standards across all post-harvest areas
  • Identify equipment needs and support procurement decisions
