About The Position

The Post Grad Resident Pharmacist at Lankenau Medical Center is an entry-level role designed for individuals starting their career as a Pharmacist with Main Line Health. This position involves supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure accurate medication compounding and dispensing, as well as timely drug administration. Residents will interpret and evaluate medication orders for patients, consult with healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy, and contribute to clinical newsletters. The role also includes assisting Clinical/Administrative staff in developing standard policies, procedures, and practices to achieve clinical goals in critical care and general clinical pharmacy services. Residents are encouraged to engage with peers, participate in various programs, and are supported in their career development through tuition reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited university pharmacy program with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree
  • Current Pennsylvania pharmacy license (or eligibility within probationary period) and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience as a hospital-based pharmacy technician/student
  • Teaching skills to train professional staff members in appropriate drug use
  • Ability to orient patients, physicians, and nurses to drug information

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities of Technicians to assure accurate compounding and dispensing of medications and timely drug administration
  • Interpret and evaluate medication orders for patients of MLH
  • Consult with necessary healthcare professionals as necessary to optimize drug therapy
  • Contribute to clinical newsletters at least 3 times during your resident year
  • Assist Clinical/Administrative staff in creation of standard polices, procedures and practices throughout the system to accomplish clinical goals in critical care and general clinical pharmacy services
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Meet regularly with peers to synchronize activities and avoid duplications of efforts
  • Participate in Vizient Buying Group programs, as appropriate to a particular project or goals of MLH
