About The Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar. The hired individual will support laboratory work in mucosal immunology, microbiota and allergies. The Postdoc will be expected to conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PI, students, and trainees, as needed. Main roles for the individual hired for this position will include: - Collaborating with the PI in the generation and testing of research hypotheses and data analysis, writing of papers, grants, and reports, and preparation of presentations and lectures. - Collecting and organizing data for research activities. - Attending, participating, or presenting at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate and undergraduate lectures, and conferences as needed; 4) performing miscellaneous office duties as assigned by the PI (s) including, but not limited to, ordering supplies and helping the PI(s) in the organization and coordination of meetings and projects. - Maintaining frequent communication with colleague lab mates and collaborators. Work hours will typically occur between normal business hours but may occasionally require some evenings, weekends and/or holiday hours.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a PhD in one of these fields of study: Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related areas.
  • Background in Mucosal Immunology, microbiota, allergy.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to work independently within a research lab.
  • Demonstrated ability/proficiency/excellence computer software, equipment operation, or research technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in research with flow cytometry, animal models, cloning and expression of recombinant proteins, and microbiota.
  • Experience in multi-omics would be a plus.

Responsibilities
