About The Position

The Department of Germanic Languages and Literature within the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position hire a full-time postdoctoral associate in the field of Scandinavian Studies. Scholars with expertise in Old Norse are especially encouraged to apply. This position is supported by the Vorman-Anderson Faculty Fund for Nordic Languages and Literatures. The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our department. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university, hosting 81 majors, 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members. Requirements

  • Ph.D. Scandinavian or related field by start date
  • Native or near-native fluency in a Scandinavian Language
  • Record of excellence in research and teaching
  • Willingness and ability to teach either in-person or online, as needed
  • Ability to work collegially and effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds as well as foster an inclusive classroom and working environment
