About The Position

Your research will build upon ongoing efforts to analyze the molecular encoding of memory in macrophages and T cells, as well as its functional consequences for both innate and adaptive immune responses. The proposed work will leverage expertise in single-cell and single-molecule analyses, as well as utilize experimental and computational tools, the latter enabling predictions of DNA sequences that dictate memory-specific alterations in chromatin structure at single-base pair resolution. Changes in these research plans may occur and will be based on mutual discussions with Drs. Gottschalk and Singh of evolving research priorities and experimental progress.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences.
  • expertise in single-cell and transcriptomic analyses in primary immune cells.

Responsibilities

  • using computational approaches to predict DNA sequence features that dictate immune memory
  • experimentally investigating the underlying mechanisms
  • Approaches used in this role will include assays for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing (ATAC-Seq)
  • single-cell transcriptomic analyses
  • CRISPR-mediated perturbation
  • development of gene regulatory networks
