About The Position

The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a dynamic and motivated researcher with a strong background in cancer research, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering. The Postdoc researcher will design, execute, analyze, interpret, document, and prepare for publication experiments and their products in support of the laboratory's mission. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of taking initiative in pursuing new and independent ideas, adopting and optimizing emerging techniques, and thriving in a collaborative team environment. The position will require a high degree of independence in design, execution, and analysis/interpretation of experiments. Requirements

• Strong background in cancer research, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering
• Expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing
• Expertise in whole genome transcriptome and proteome
• Expertise in multi-dimensional flow cytometry
• Expertise in in vivo murine tumor models
• Expertise in in vitro models
• Expertise in CRISPR editing
• Proven track record of taking initiative in pursuing new and independent ideas
• Proven track record of adopting and optimizing emerging techniques
• Proven track record of thriving in a collaborative team environment
• High degree of independence in design, execution, and analysis/interpretation of experiments
• PhD in biomedical sciences

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, analyze, interpret, document, and prepare for publication experiments and their products in support of the laboratory's mission
• Manage the logistics and operations of the laboratory (partial effort)
• Train, mentor, and supervise more junior laboratory members, clinical fellows, and medical students (together with and at the direction of the laboratory head)
