About The Position

The department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Post Doctoral Associate to work on the UHealth Campus. The lab is dedicated to the study and treatment of mood, anxiety, and substance use disorders in adolescent and high-risk adult (e.g. HIV+) populations using innovative neuroimaging and immunological methodologies. The neuroimaging program features high-resolution data acquisition and analysis techniques modeled on the Human Connectome Project (HCP) and is committed to the highest standards for magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy. CORE FUNCTIONS Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned. Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

• MD or Ph.D. in relevant field required
• Proficiencies with at least one major neuroimaging software suite (e.g. FSL, AFNI, SPM, Freesurfer, Caret, Connectome Workbench, etc.) and Unix/Linux environment are expected.
• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
• Analysis of fMRI and MR spectroscopy data
• Acquiring or processing related MRI and biological measures
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Nice To Haves

• Neuroimaging expertise/training preferred
• Familiarity with Matlab, Python, and/or R programming languages is a plus.
